PHILOSOPHY FOR KIDS

A completely new experiance for me will be going to teach primary school children a bit of Philosophy. This is SO scary for me right now; never have I had to stand at the front of a class of 8,9 or 10 year old children in attempt to catch and keep their attention whilst teaching them a subject that COULD although I refuse to let it go over their heads.
Something that I think will interest them will be the topic of beauty. What is beauty? What makes something beautiful? Am I beautiful?
So on the topic of beauty this has made me think of my own answers to those questions. I think beauty is something that seems subjective (based on our own individual opinions, beliefs etc.) but if it was based solely on individual preference then how would we all think (which I believe we do) that a flower is beautiful.
It seems to me that there is something maybe a 'form' of beauty that runs through 'beautiful things'. What makes a model, a flower, a butterfly beautiful is that there is something that belongs to all of those things although they are completely different.
Just a brief question for today's topic but something that I am excited to hear the responses from the primary children. I will keep you posted. But for now, what do you think makes something beautiful?
